Describe your first yoga experience.

I first found yoga through the P90X fitness program. I really hated it. I didn’t “like” yoga until I accidentally found myself in a Bikram class. In the fall of 2011, I took part in a 108 Sun Salutations class. That particular practice broke me down physically and began to open me up spiritually. To me, that class marked the beginning of my yoga practice.

Describe your dream practice.

It’s an Ashtanga-influenced self-practice and serves as a moving meditation through the arc of life. I start in child’s pose at birth and end in savasana for death. Like life itself, I reach high points where I fly and soar as well as hit obstacles which ground and humble me. I wake up from savasana with a renewed passion for life and gratitude for the present moment.

What is your favorite way to self-indulge?

Early morning yoga practice, then a round of golf with my boys, then a 2-hr deep-tissue massage, then dinner and games with the family. Oh yeah!!!

The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. It has given me a totally new perspective on my time here.
